Located at the top of Union Road near the bus station in New Mills, the successful Indian Takeaway 'Saffron Rice' provides a tremendous choice of exceptional quality Indian meals for every taste. It has been trading since 2nd June 2008, replacing 'The Viceroy' with new management led by Gulam Mowla Aulia and new kitchen staff led by Head Chef Hira Miah.

Very Experienced Management

Gulam had managed the excellent Taste of Bengal restaurant (above the Beehive Pub) for 4 years before taking on the management of newly formed Saffron Rice, and believes he's managed to create a winning team with quality and service at the heart of this food experience. Gulam has worked in Indian restaurants in the North West for over 20 years, starting out in the famous Shere Khan in Rusholme, Manchester.

Excellent Chef and Kitchen Staff

Hira previously worked for 10 years in the kitchens of Memories of India restaurant in Whaley Bridge and at Bollywood Masala restaurant in Crewe before that, but was drawn to Saffron Rice by Gulam's vision of providing a taste sensation at the heart of the Takeaway offering to match anything served in local Indian restaurants.

Great Menu and Flexible

Keen to demonstrate their culinary skills, flexibility and passion for Indian cooking, the chefs are very happy to style any dish to suit your taste and even prepare specials not on the menu on an ad hoc basis.
